FVS Transport Reports - December 2019
In September 2019, we at Family Voice Surrey received a huge number of calls, emails and messages through our coordinators and at school gates etc regarding concerns about SEND Transport. While this time of year often sees a rise in such concerns, this year seemed rather exceptional. In response to this, we launched a short survey to try and understand what the issues were.
Soon after, Surrey County Council launched a much broader consultation into all home to school travel (for all children, with or without SEND). We promoted the consultation and attendance at the events SCC put on and listened to parent voices about the consultations.
This work has culminated in two reports, each addressing a slightly different aspect of SEND transport. We have presented these to SCC officers and have also had the opportunity to share our findings with the Children, Families, All Age Learning and Culture Select Committee and ask for these findings to be considered when a decision is made regarding home to school travel.

We will let you know when SCC publish their report and what representations you are able to make before any final decision is made.
We will also continue to work with SCC to review SEND transport and will bring you more information as we have it.
