FVS Preparing for Adulthood 2019 event
March 1, 2019
Following the huge success of our inaugural Preparation for Adulthood event last March, we have partnered with another of Surrey’s FE colleges this year to bring together many organisations and speakers who can help you plan for your child’s future.
Preparation for Adulthood should now be a central part of any SEND child’s plan, whether they have an EHCP or not. This programme focuses on four areas of independence: housing, employment, health and access to the community. The aim is for any young person’s needs to be met in these four areas to allow them to participate in life as fully as they are able.
Our marketplace event will allow you to speak to teams from Surrey’s education and social care departments. Providers of housing solutions such as supported living will be there, as well as providers who can help your young person into employment. You will be able to hear from universities about how they help support young people with SEND, and attend a number of workshops.
