SEND: Old issues, new issues, next steps
Today we have published our final report from Ofsted and CQCs programme of interim visits to local areas. In this report, we look at the history of SEND reforms and the impact that the pandemic has had on children and young people with SEND, and their families. Dominic Raab Q&A with Action for Carers
Thank you to Action for Carers for organising the Q&A session with Dominic Raab, Surrey MP and Foreign Secretary on 11th June. We asked: How will the government support families with disabled children who want to visit the EU for holidays, family visits now that the EHIC card scheme is no longer available? He answered: If you have a current EHIC card it will continue to be usable and recognised. There are talks to look at compatible schemes in EU countries to replicate this.

Lessons Learnt from Lockdown
The highs and lows of the pandemics impact on children and young people. The consultation involved over 600 children and young people, 128 parents and 110 professionals who shared their views and experiences. It is the largest consultation to date designed to engage children and young people with SEND to explore the impact of the pandemic on their lives and to understand their support needs moving forward.
