Free event for parent carers in Epsom

Parenting a child is full of challenges - but parenting a child with additional needs brings additional ones! If you feel you’d like some expert help, and would like to meet other parent carers in similar situations, then come along to a free event at Epsom Playhouse on 17 November. Laura Kerbey, founder of PAST (Positive Autism Support and Training) and Happy Healthy Me!, will be sharing her experiences and tips for how to manage some of those tricky situations. In a two-hour session, Laura will look at sensory needs and behaviour, suggest some positive behaviour management techniques and look at how you can build your own resilience. Ofsted/CQC inspection update

The Ofsted and CQC inspectors completed their week-long Local Area inspection of the SEND services in Surrey on Friday. We attended the closing session on Friday; the lead HM Inspector gave no actual feedback but explained the process they had just gone through, thanked everyone involved for their input and assistance, and described what happens next. Joint Ofsted and CQC Inspection of Surrey's SEND services: 17-21 October 2016

From 17-21 October 2016 Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will carry out jointly an inspection of Surrey.
